BACKGROUND
Redhills first opened an office in the North of England in 2006. The office was developed in Leeds and due to client base and staff home locations the office was moved to Manchester in 2008. Due to expansion of the client base and workforce and our Manchester Office becoming the regional centre for our other Northern Offices in Newcastle and Scotland in 2011 we moved the office to a larger location with space to set up a laboratory which facilitates further expansion.
In May 2011 we achieved UKAS Accreditation for our bulk analysis laboratory. The office is run by an experienced team and continues to grow, servicing both a mature existing client base and a new developing client base.

MIDLANDS OFFICE
BACKGROUND
Redhills Midland office opened in 2003 after a number of successful contract wins in the region. Our core staff worked with a stable client base for a number of years meeting the requirements of both local and national clients. In 2010 larger offices were moved into within the same property to support additional staff that were employed in the region to facilitate new contract wins.
The office facilitates a number of Framework Contracts in a number of sectors including University of Reading, University of Cambridge, Sainsbury’s, Screwfix, Specsavers and Birmingham City Council. The office continues to look for key areas of growth and additional staff will be brought in to facilitate this where required.
SECTOR - Banking
SERVICE – Asbestos Consultancy Services
Background
As with all retail groups, high street banks have many and varied compliance requirements in relation to asbestos. The Bank have appointed Redhills as their approved asbestos consultant for the past 3 years.
This contract encompasses all aspects of asbestos management including Management and Refurbishment / Demolition surveys, annual re-inspections and air monitoring. The portiolio covered within the remit of the contract includes not only all the high street branches but all commercial office premises and warehousing locations nationwide.
The contract also extends to working directly for their sub-contractors for the ongoing branch redevelopment programme.
Project Details
The Bank contract works in two distinct ways. Firstly, operating directly for the Bank to assist their day to day compliance with Regularion 4 “The Duty to Manage” of the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR 2006). This element of the contract involves carrying out planned and programmed Management and Re-inspecrion surveys across large numbers of branches. These surveys are conducted discreetly during opening hours whilst not disturbing branch operations.
Do I need Asbestos Testing?
If you are uncertain whether a material contains asbestos it should be tested if it is likely to be disturbed. A sample of the material can be taken and tested for asbestos fibres.
If you are set to undertake an asbestos removal project you may require air testing. For licensable asbestos removal a 4-Stage Clearance air test is mandatory. Air testing may also be conducted for reassurance purposes or to assess exposure.

Why would you need our Analytical Services?
Analytical services can be categorised into two main types;
(i) analysis of bulk samples for asbestos fibres and
(ii) analysis of air samples for measurement of respirable fibres.
These tests can be undertaken to determine if asbestos fibres are present and the concentration of fibres in the air. CAR 2006 requires employers to prevent the exposure of their employees to asbestos

SECTOR – Broadcast/Corporate
SERVICE - Asbestos Management
Background Within the live broadcast environment there are numerous pressures on any planned and reactive works. There are not only health and safety considerations but also time, cost and live broadcast environments to consider.
All regulations are applicable and the task is to ensure no person is exposed to asbestos and reduce any risk as far as reasonably practicable whilst also maintaining facilitating broadcast critical areas.
The portfolio we work within has over 200 properties throughout the UK, varying in size, age and construction

Our role in this environment is simply to ensure compliance with regulations and ensure that no person is put at risk from exposure to asbestos.

Carnaby Street redevelopment of 1950’s structure to provide new commercial and retail space to prime location.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd takes on a Carnaby Street project in order to provide new commercial and retail space.
This project on the busy pedestrianised Carnaby Street in London.
This presented numerous logistical issues, not least of all supplying materials to and from site.
The site had suffered bomb damage during WW2 and required extensive underpinning and ‘King Post Walling’ to retain the roadway (Carnaby St). Demolition works adjoined grade two listed structures with temporary support and therefore, had to be very versatile to accommodate the anomalies of structures from this era.
The works had to be coordinated into the bespoke restrictions working on the Carnaby Estate.

Demolition of four storey office block in Soho to permit re-construction of new Base2stay hotel.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd, operating from their Central London Headquarters, were called in for the demolition of a four storey office block in Soho.
Deconstruct were contracted to demolish an existing four story office block down to basement level and excavate for new construction including underpinning existing pavement vaults.
Part of this package included a structural cut and carve phase of works in the adjoining St Annes Court buildings, including the removal of stair cores and recording studios within the basement demise.
Asbestos was also removed from various areas within the structures following the survey process.

Deconstruct appointed to create new lift and stair core through existing occupied listed building at the Royal Academy of Engineers.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd were called in to assist with creating core double lift core access through a siz storey structure.
To remove an existing single lift and pit to create a double lift core for access through this six storey structure.
These works required the underpinning of the existing party and structural walls for a new double lift pit and required the construction of a new lift core through the six floors.
The works were carried out in a live listed building and noise and vibration were a key client concern.

Structural alteration packages to numerous shop units within Wandsworth shopping centre.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd and their team of fully-qualified asbestos removal and asbestos abatement staff, were on hand to help with the refurbishment 0f many units within Wandsworth shopping centre, they also carried out asbestos surveying and removal tasks.
During a fundamental refurbishment and alteration programme, we carried out numerous packages on a number of units within the centre to either join units together, extend units, structurally alter shop fronts and install lift and escalator pits. Deconstruct also carried out asbestos surveys and removal works. Throughout the project, noise and nuisance to the operational centre had to be kept to an absolute minimum.

Structural demolition and façade retention of double fronted residential premises in Pont Street, Knightsbridge.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd, a a service-driven company, were called in to assist with the structural demolition and facade retention of a residential premises.
This project consisted of two structures which formed part of a long terrace of high end residential premises.
The façades had to be retained and the entire structures behind had to be removed. This six storey development also had a basement and throughout its life had been subject to a number of previous conversions.

Structural ‘cut and carve’ project at Africa House, Holborn for BAM.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd, were called in for a commercial structural refurbishment at Africa House due to extensive experience in site enablement services.
Our package of works at Africa House was a major ‘cut and carve’ alteration and demolition contract to a significant former commercial premises in Holborn central London. This high profile project required substantial temporary works design and installation to transfer temporary loads around occupied ground floor premises of JD Wetherspoon and Ladbrooks. The fast track programme of 22 weeks meant a pro-active design process was key to successful delivery of the project. Deconstruct were very pleased to ensure a safe and timely delivered project.
